Opening of the Breitling Boutique on Freie Strasse.
2020
100 years of Spinnler + Schweizer. Numerous celebratory promotions and publications to mark the company’s anniversary, including the exciting Anniversary Magazine with lots of interesting facts about the company’s history and two exclusive limited-edition models by Oris.
2011
Hans-Robert Spinnler sells his majority shareholding, making Roger Schweizer the new owner of Chronometrie Spinnler + Schweizer AG.
2005
Opening of the “Zythuus”, a museum of clocks and watches on Spalenberg.
2003
Chronometrie Spinnler + Schweizer becomes an official Rolex representative.
1999
Roger Schweizer takes a stake in the company, which consequently takes on its current name.
1996
Closing of the Aeschenvorstadt location.
1995
Hans-August Spinnler’s passing the year before is followed by the death of Harad Zander. The latter’s stepson, Claude Rhis, continues the business in Rheinfelden independently under the name “Rhis und Zander”.
1993
Major renovation of the Marktplatz location.
1991
Opening of an additional location on Aeschenvorstadt; Roger Schweizer joins the company.
1987
Closure of both locations in the St. Johann neighbourhood.
1985
Relocation to the current location on Marktplatz.
1983
Opening of a workshop for large clock repairs on Wattstrasse, in the immediate vicinity of the shop on Gasstrasse.
1978
Opening of a second location on Marktgasse in Rheinfelden.
1977
The company is converted into a public limited company and entered in the commercial register under the name “Spinnler & Zander AG”.
1976
After completing his training as a watchmaker, Hans-Robert Spinnler joins his family’s business, too.
1972
Harald Zander becomes a partner, and the company is renamed “Spinnler & Co.”.
1964
After Hans-August Spinnler purchases the property on Gasstrasse, the shop is thoroughly renovated, and the product range extended.
1957
Watchmaker Harald Zander joins the company.
1951
After the passing of the company founder Hans Spinnler, his son Hans-August takes over the family business.
1930
With the business growing, they move into a new shop on the nearby Gasstrasse.
1925
Together with his wife Margrit, Hans Spinnler opens the first shop on Landskronstrasse in the St. Johann neighbourhood.
1920
Hans Spinnler lays the foundation of the company by opening a watchmaker’s studio on the Freie Strasse.
